Citron Emulator Releases Version 0.5 for Android with Big Improvements

Citron, a version of the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator, has launched its latest update, version 0.5, for Android users. This new update boosts performance, improves game compatibility, and fixes several issues. It arrives just weeks after the last update, according to Android Authority.

One of the key upgrades is better Vulkan rendering, which means smoother graphics and fewer visual glitches in games. The update also includes special fixes for Samsung devices and an improved user interface with better performance monitoring tools.

Early tests by Android Authority show that games run more smoothly, and some that previously had crashes or graphic issues on other Yuzu-based emulators now work without extra tweaking.

Citron has also changed its description to a “Nintendo homebrew” emulator and strictly avoids any discussion of piracy. This could be an effort to prevent legal issues with Nintendo, though it’s unclear if it will be effective.

Android users can download the latest Citron update from the official website, and a Linux version of version 0.5 is expected soon.

Even though Citron is built on Yuzu, it aims to be the most advanced version of the emulator. However, performance may still vary depending on the device and settings.
